What should I record about my menopause symptoms?

Which symptom, how often, how severe on your own consistent scale, when it started, what changes it, what you have already tried and for how long, and any treatment changes with dates. Frequency and dates carry the information; adjectives do not.

The two corrections worth knowing before you read anything else in this category

NICE NG23 does not recommend symptom diaries, scores or questionnaires. They are not in the recommendations. It is the most common misattribution in this space, and HormoneLog would be easier to market if it were true. The source that supports writing symptoms down is The Menopause Society.

"Validated" describes an instrument, not an app. The Greene Climacteric Scale and the Menopause Rating Scale are validated and licensed. RWS Life Sciences also states the GCS was validated only for paper administration, with digital adaptations not validated. HormoneLog implements neither and the word is never used to describe it.
